Tottenham close to £15m signing of Hojbjerg with Walker-Peters moving to Southampton for £12m

Tottenham are hopeful of concluding the £15million signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton this week after a breakthrough in talks.

Spurs defender Kyle Walker-Peters will go in the opposite direction in a separate deal worth £12m.

Denmark international Hojbjerg had turned down the chance to move to Everton as he held out for Southampton to agree terms with his favoured club.

In a separate deal, Spurs defender Kyle Walker-Peters will move to Southampton for £12m

The 24-year-old wanted to link up with Jose Mourinho and will provide the protection for his defence.

Southampton had wanted around £25m for Hojbjerg who has one year left on his contract. 

They had rejected an earlier offer of £14m and had hoped to push the price higher amid Everton’s interest until Hojbjerg made it clear who he wished to join.

Southampton have also been considering other options for right-back including Matty Cash of Nottingham Forest and West Ham’s Ryan Fredericks.
