Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe have been left out of Manchester United‘s 30-man Europa League squad due to season-ending injuries.

Tuanzebe picked up an injury before football restarted in June while Shaw was forced off with an ankle injury during his side’s 1-1 draw with Southampton earlier this month.

However, youngsters Teden Mengi, Ethan Laird and Ethan Galbaith have been included in the squad as United prepare for the second leg of their last-16 tie with LASK on Wednesday.

All three will have been training with the first team along with fellow academy graduates James Garner and Tahith Chong.

Mengi, 18, is yet to make his senior debut but was an unused substitute in the 2-1 defeat by Astana in the final group game of the competition in November.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielded a starting XI primarily made up of youth players with United having already qualified for the knockout stages.

Laird, also 18, and Galbraith, 19, made their debuts in the fixture along with Di’Shon Bernard and Dylan Levitt.

Right back Laird also came on as a late substitute in the 4-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar in December.

The youngsters were regulars for Neil Wood’s Under 23 side last season.

United have a 5-0 lead from the first leg in Austria and Solskjaer could rest some of his big name players with progression to the quarter finals all but confirmed.

Daniel James, Juan Mata, Odion Ighalo and Andreas Pereira all scored in the first encounter and are expected to play some part in the game at Old Trafford.
