Derby, Birmingham and Ipswich eyeing David Cornell after goalkeeper helped Northampton Town secure promotion from League Two before leaving as his contract expired
Northampton goalkeeper David Cornell is being chased by a host of Championship clubs ahead of next season.
Cornell is a free agent following the expiry of his contract after playing a key role in their promotion from League Two this season, with Derby, Birmingham and Ipswich among the clubs interested.
Northampton were hoping to keep Cornell, but the former Swansea man has decided to move on in search of a new challenge.

The 29-year-old kept 13 clean sheets in 34 league games and was named in the League Two Team of the Year.
Championship duo Derby and Birmingham are looking to bring in goalkeeping reinforcements this summer, while League One Ipswich Town are long-term admirers of Cornell as they look to strengthen their options.
