‘From now until the end of the season it’s 12 finals, they are all life or death’: Romelu Lukaku issues rallying cry after Inter Milan move six points behind Serie A leaders Juventus with victory over Sampdoria

Romelu Lukaku has urged his Inter Milan team-mates to treat their remaining fixtures like ’12 finals’ as they bid to overtake Juventus at the top of the Serie A table.

Inter moved within six points of the leaders with Sunday’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria as Antonio Conte‘s men played their first league game since the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Inter were knocked out of the Coppa Italia last week after a 2-1 aggregate defeat by Napoli in the semi-final, but got back on track with a win over Sampdoria.

‘It was very important to win, as from now to the end of the season it’s 12 finals, they are all life or death,’ Lukaku told Sky Sport Italia ahead of the home clash with Sassuolo on Wednesday.

‘Now we have to focus and get fired up for Wednesday.

‘Every game is tough from now and they will not be easy for anybody. We worked really well in training, the team is in good shape physically, but we have to keep going and get even stronger, because it’s going to be a game every three days.’
