Today is the fifth and thankfully last day of a very long five day long weekend here in Mauritius.
Celebrations for the Chinese New Year’s is underway as the year of the Pig commences. I Googled the year of the pig and to my understanding the description is not favorable.. 🤔 However we go wish the Chinese community a happy new year.
Although we respect the customs of our host country we do not celebrate the day and so for us it was just another day lounging round the pool, going for an ice cream and for the past couple of hours an intense housecleaning session before the dad arrives with the next day or two.
And hopefully tomorrow everything will be back to normal although it would seem we’ve got a tropical storm underway which could or could not turn cyclonic.. 🌀 I’ll keep you posted on that topic.
Now it’s time to relax with a cold drink and my daily beach walk whilst the girl child cooks supper as per her request. ❤️ #chinesenewyear
