What’s Next for the Airline Innovation Report – Skift

For the past year and a half, I have brought to you the week’s aviation headlines, along with a short introduction explaining my thoughts on whatever I found most interesting.

I have enjoyed writing this newsletter and interacting with you. But today we are retiring the Airline Innovation Report as Skift builds out its aviation coverage in more robust ways. That includes Skift Airline Weekly, our subscription newsletter that we believe delivers the strongest business insights in the world of commercial aviation.

As for me, I’m not going anywhere. I’ll continue to report on aviation, focusing on innovation. I’ll travel globally to bring you unique stories. Next week I’ll go to Hamburg for the annual Aircraft Interiors Show, where I’ll learn about the future of seats, overhead bins, bathrooms, and even airplane coffee makers. You can still find my writing about the airline industry, and that of others, at our airlines hub.

Going forward, as subscribers of this newsletter, you will start to receive two free months of Skift Airline Weekly. After that, if you like what you read each week, and we are pretty sure you will, we will offer you a 20 percent discount on an annual subscription. You will get your first issue on Monday.

I have more good news. I’ll soon write an occasional column in which I’ll share my opinions about the airline industry. Loyal newsletter readers know I don’t always follow conventional wisdom and have my idiosyncrasies about everything from business class service (I like efficiency over opulence) to on-time departures (I prefer them at all costs, even if it means leaving passengers behind).

One of the things I have enjoyed most about the newsletter is reader notes. Some of you sent story tips or internal memos. Others shared extra context about stories I followed. Some sent praise. A few shared criticism.
