Real Madrid defender Marcelo ‘closes in on move to Juventus’ as Spanish giants consider signing Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico as replacement

Real Madrid stalwart Marcelo is ‘closing in on a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus‘, a move that could see Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico head to the Bernabeu.

Marcelo has been at Real Madrid since 2007, making almost 500 appearances in all competitions, but it appears his time in La Liga may be coming to an end.

Tuttosport report that the 30-year-old full back is close to agreeing a move to Juventus in the summer, where he would join up with old Madrid pal Ronaldo.

Although Marcelo has deflected the rumours of late, the Italian newspaper write that his relationship with current coach Santiago Solari is poor, and he has only played 13 times in the league so far this season.

If the Brazilian were to move to Juve, it would open the door for Tagliafico and a huge move to the Bernabeu for the Ajax full back.

The 26-year-old Argentine arrived in Holland in January 2018 for just £4million, but has since seen his stock rise dramatically.

His agent Ricardo Schlieper, speaking on Radio Rivadavia this week, has admitted that Real Madrid have opened discussions over a move for his player.

He too revealed that Marcelo is close to a Juventus switch, meaning that Real Madrid are on the lookout for a new full back and want Tagliafico to replace him.

Tagliafico does not have a release clause in his Ajax contract, but it is understood the Dutch giants have put a price on the head of their talented defender.
