Barcelona are ready to step up their interest in Saul Niguez and ‘are willing to pay £96million to land the Atletico Madrid man’ this summer.
The La Liga champions have long been admirers of the Spanish midfielder and were close to landing him in 2017 before he penned a long-term deal to remain in red and white.
But according to Spanish publication AS, Barcelona are determined not to miss out again and have plans to produce a near £100m bid to get him.

Atletico are known to dig their heels in as they look to avoid strengthening a direct rival.
Should Saul make the switch to the Nou Camp, or to the Premier League with Manchester City believed to retain an interest, he would become the most expensive Spanish player of all time.
