Dylan Hartley is set to miss the rest of England’s Guinness Six Nations campaign and his prospects of playing again this season are in doubt, amid fears that knee surgery is now unavoidable.
The 32-year-old Northampton hooker, who has not played since late December, was due to see a surgeon on Thursday because of an ongoing wear-and-tear problem in the joint.
England head coach Eddie Jones said: ‘He’ll take advice on what he’s got to do and we’ll take it from there.’
Dylan Hartley is likely to miss the rest of the Six Nations and may be out for the season
Manu Tuilagi will be free to decide on a move to France without interference from Jones.
This comes after a report that he has signed for Racing 92 was swiftly denied on Thursday.
The Leicester centre, 27, is out of contract at the end of this season and — as reported by Sportsmail — after visiting Racing last week he has been made an offer thought to be worth £2.5million over three years.
