Parents of participating athletes receive complimentary tickets

Minister Toussaint highlighted that special arrangements have been made to enable the parents to attend competitions in which their wards will participate, so as to support them.

The Minister urged the Mauritian team to maintain their motivation and focus even under stress, adding that the goal of the Games is not only to aim at victory but to perform at their level best and according to their full potentials.  He emphasised that the participating athletes have demonstrated their passion and commitment through the intense training they have been making for years, for this key event.

He recalled that Government has been undertaking major initiatives to host the IOIG 2019 in the best conditions and appealed to the population to fully participate in the Games. He indicated that the whole population will be able to watch the activities in context of the Games via the 14 large open-air screens to be set up across the Island.

Mr Toussaint also pointed out that the Organising Committee has put in place the necessary security measures to prevent any fraudulent acts as regards the sale of tickets.
