Hilton debuts in the Caribbean

Hilton announced its debut in the Caribbean today when it unveiled the signing of the ROK Hotel, Kingston Jamaica to the company’s Tapestry Collection.

Discussing the 168-room property Juan Corvinos, vice president of development in the Caribbean and Latin America for Hilton, said: “Strategically focused on our expansion across the Caribbean and Latin America, we value the opportunity presented with Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

“With Tapestry Collection, we open the door to owners with unique, upscale hotels, who seek to maintain their property’s distinctive character, but also seek the benefits of the Hilton engine and our award-winning Hilton Honors program.”

The new hotel comes as part of a redevelopment project to stimulate the Kingston Waterfront. Trading orginially as Oceana Hotel the 12-story building first opened in 1977.
