‘Welcome Valentina’: Diego Simeone celebrates birth of his fifth child as Atletico Madrid boss swaps touchline attire for hospital scrubs to hold her

Proud dad Diego Simeone presented his fifth child to the world after swapping his touchline attire for a hospital gown, face mask and cap to welcome the newborn.
The 48-year-old Atletico Madrid manager showed his tender side as he held his second daughter with his ex-model partner Carla Pereyra in his arms for a photo he posted on social media alongside the message: ‘Welcome Valentina’ in Spanish.
The new-born girl is sister to Francesca, two. He has three sons with ex-partner Carolina Baldini, two of whom are professional footballers and the third – 16-year-old Guiliano – playing for River Plate’s youth team and expected to make his first team debut in the next couple of years.

The Atletico Madrid boss made his way to the hospital following a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid
Simeone headed to the hospital ready for the birth after watching his side lose to Real Madrid on Saturday.
Valentina was born around 10.30am on Monday morning at Madrid’s Monteprincipe Hospital and weighed just over 6lbs.
The birth has been described as ‘very quick’ and without problems.
Atletico de Madrid fans were quick to congratulate their manager, with one joking: ‘Future Atletico star is born today. Congratulations Boss!!’
Simeone and his ex-model partner Carla Pereyra could marry at the end of the current year
Pereyra, who began dating the Argentinian football boss in April 2014 after they met in a restaurant, said when she announced she was pregnant with her second daughter: ‘I didn’t care if it was a boy or a girl.
‘If it was a boy, it was ideal to have a mix but it’s true that I always dreamed of having two girls and I love the idea. I’m so happy.’
She left her native Argentina to move to Milan to pursue her modelling career when she was just 17.
Carla also posted the same picture as her partner. Late last year it was reported the couple planned to marry this year.
