Now, the Silicon Valley and startup hub of India has more access to Slovakia as the country has unveiled its visa application centre in Bengaluru. The centre in Bengaluru was formally inaugurated on March 29 by H.E. Ivan Lancaric, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic.

This visa application centre is one of the three VFS Global centres launched across India, providing Slovakia visa services, with the other two located in Mumbai and Delhi. Prior to this centre being launched, applicants had to travel to New Delhi to submit their applications at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in New Delhi.

Slovakia visa applications have seen a rise in recent years, with the destination gaining popularity among Indian travellers across segments. An impressive 68% increase was recorded in Slovakia visa applications in 2018 over 2017.

As per information from the Embassy of the Slovak Republic, in 2018, Indians tourists stayed more days on average than tourists of other nationalities, and around 12,000 Indians that visited this European nation stayed for more than one night.

H.E. Ivan Lancaric, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in New Delhi said, “If you are interested in visiting a country with a rich history, unique traditions, vibrant cities, historic architecture and a wealth of summer or winter opportunities for outdoor adventures, Slovakia may be the perfect destination for your next trip. With many magical castles, mountain peaks and tasty food and wines, Slovakia offers the tourist experience that will both surprise and delight visitors.”

“In three cities across India”

Vinay Malhotra, Regional Group COO – South Asia, Middle East and China, VFS Global said: “With the launch of this centre in Bengaluru, we now provide Slovakia visa services in three cities across India.”

The Central European country, popular for its national parks, vibrant culture and historical castles and chateaux, has caught the attention of the well-heeled Indian traveller, and we look forward to getting their visits off to a great start with our best-in-class visa services, he added.

The Slovakia Visa Application Centres in India have been launched as part of the mandate signed on 5 November 2018, wherein the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic contracted VFS Global to provide visa services in 10 countries worldwide – China, India, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Belarus, Russia, Kuwait, the UAE, Turkey and Egypt, through a network of 38 Visa Application Centres.
