GIS 27 May 2019: The National Productivity and Competitiveness Council (NPCC), as part of its effort to promote innovative practices and local organisations and to boost up productivity at all levels, is organising, on 3 and 4 June 2019, a workshop on Innovation through Design Thinking.

The workshop, which will be hosted by a Singapore-based training, facilitation, coaching and consulting expert, Grace Tan, is expected to help participants to have an insight into the realms of Design Thinking and on the ways they can use the tools provided to bring innovation into their activities.

Participants will also be able to move from the conventional problem-solving practices to one which is highly focused on the human process that taps into aptitudes that have been overlooked.  The workshop will focus on abilities which will enable one to be intuitive, to recognise patterns, to construct ideas that are emotionally meaningful as well as functional.

Design Thinking is the ability to combine empathy for the context of the problem, creativity in the generation of insights and solutions, and to rationally analyse and fit solutions to the context.

During the workshop, participants will be able to apply the steps of Design Thinking in creating innovative solutions and strategies with respect to their own projects.
